Charcoal portraits

Portraits are just as important to the artists as they are to the people who see themselves on a piece of paper. They create a conversation in between the two. The subject suddenly becomes a judge and decides whether or not the drawing is accurate. The artist accepts the criticism and learns from it. The one thing they both agree on is that they are looking at something they've never seen before. They are both surprised, shocked or even amazed.
